Now that u know, lets get serious…………..

(MS Windows Update vs Google Chrome)Here we go again!

September21

Every now and then when a windows auto-updates kick in, the immediate thing to follow, most often than not, is Google Chrome failing to start!!

I know I should probably turn off the auto-updates on the OS but hey, if its Windows OS, if it is from Microsoft and if it has the words ‘update’/'patch’/'hot-fix’ in it, Ill take em! Who am I kidding – I’ll have to take em!
So, here I am(that reminds of Bryan Adams and the soundtrack of ‘Spirit’ – which now makes me want to watch the movie for the 29304283 time!! Oh you gotta love collaboration of Bryan Adams and Hans Zimmer !! ….and now back to the topic ->), on a rainy & humid Monday morning, as soon as I log-in, I see a balloon in my task-bar saying this PC is fresh off a Windows update!!
The first thing that comes to my mind you ask? “Oh crap! I hope Chrome works!!”
Not its not much of a surprise that I see Chrome just doing nothing when I click on the icon! Its as if Monday blues are spreading its powers onto my desktop too .. Oh well, here we go again:
  1. Browse to Chrome application directory at:
    %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome
  2. Renamed the Application folder
  3. Reinstalled Chrome again.

As expected, its bunnies and sunshine and rainbows again! Well..not really..its still Monday; and its still raining!! How I wish I was snuggled up warm in a blanket!

Cash buyout of $3.1bn (£1.6bn) deal by Google!!!

April15

Got any words to describe the reaction when u hear this??

Google bought DoubleClick for $3.1bn (£1.6bn)!!!!

(Doubleclick helps link up advertising agencies, marketers and web site publishers hoping to put ads online.)

Now that it is taken over by Google, i have to wonder, is it trying for a monopoly long played by Microsoft??

All the these things that Google comes up with- i can only say wow. Google is sucking up all the innovative aspects of an online market for a long run. Maybe someday we will surround ourselves with the monopoly of Google. Someday where Microsoft is forgotten….that makes me think, is Google into making an OS yet?

Get refunded from DELL if you dont want MICROSOFT WINDOWS on it!!

November17

Just as i thought i wouldnt hear anything interesting for the day, i stumble across this.

A Sheffield man has won a refund from Dell for not installing Microsoft’s Windows XP on a laptop he bought from the PC giant.” (BBC)

Anybody smiling with me here?

Well, guy is Freelance programmer Dave Mitchel.

He ordered a Dell laptop on 21 October, and the machine was delivered a few days later. As dude Dave was planning to run the Linux open source operating system on the machine, he had no need for the copy of Windows XP Home that had been pre-installed. When he started it for the first time, he clicked the box that said “no” on the Windows licence agreement that asked him to agree to its terms. The text of this agreement states users can get a refund for the “unused products” on their new computer if they get in touch with the machine’s manufacturer.

Now iznt that cool! Why dint i know that?

Every time a computer-maker, such as Dell, sells a PC or laptop they must pay Microsoft for the copy of the Windows operating system installed on it. While many PCs are now sold with a customer’s choice of operating system installed, no laptop-makers yet offer the option of anything but Windows..

“I’ve cost Dell £50, not Microsoft, which is a slightly annoying,” says dude Dave!

hmm, now im thinking..

im really thinking………….
