Its probably a sometime in the last decade or so when writers of futuristic novels/movies/comic con and that sort of thing would base stories off of 2010 or 2020 etc,. Isn’t it amazing how we are so close, by just 4 months, to 2010?

And now that we are so close to it, I feel maybe all that was dreamed of in terms of advancements in technology isn’t really here yet!!

If it IS 2010, then I should probably be having a floating gizmo of 100 mega pixel resolution capability to shoot pictures of my cute kitty and me sleeping at 300 amazing pics per min!!! I guess now these futuristic minority-report-ish tech fantasies will be deferred to 2050? Well, that is still in my life-time ! Do I think we will advance to that extent? Maybe – Maybe not!

Don’t get me wrong, we have come a long way from thinking any microchip based computer will end the world and melt down on year 2000!(Ah you know all that ruccus about Y2K !!)  But are we close to the futuristic-ness of how saying out loud 2010 sounds? Not really..But who knows? Computers & Technology are one field where development and advancement has been so rapid compared to other fields. Maybe it is possible to wake up one day in my life-time where there are flying utility gizmos making us lazy and we have air traffic with cars that fly?
