If one was LOST on a mysterious Island?

Somehow I dodged watching LOST all my life until recently and it was just one of those things…
LOST is something you know because either everyone knows about it because they watched it or just because everyone else watched it and talked so much about it! Ah the % of population that gets sucked into the annoying depths of sociology and psychology that explains behavioral instincts of  being stranded on a island with mysterious powers!
So all this started when I needed something to kill my time on the weekends and after I return from work after 8 hours of hard work! Thanks to HULU I finished entire season 1 in just a matter of few weeks! Yikes!  Not to mention I realized that all the time that I wanted to spend on making an iPhone app was shoved far down the never to be reached dark bottomless pit that funnels hours that tick tock away in your life 
That said, I probably do need this down time doing something like (watching LOST? ) for a few more weeks. I wish I had more things to fill up my free time but somehow things in my life right now are going out of routine these days. How so? Well lets see –  My personal trainer at the gym decided to get married to her longtime sweetheart and took 3 weeks off starting 2 weeks ago (what a timing right?). To replace my Tuesday and Friday Gym hours, I called my local YMCA for private swimming lessons (to save my own life in case I am stranded on an island ?? or get picked on  Amazing Race??  :) ) but no response from them in 2 weeks. . so enough said I am stuck to watching LOST.
Anyway ., now that I am watching Season 2, I was wondering after few seasons if I would feel cheated if the writers end up showcasing a really stupid concept. But from what I hear from fans of LOST, that is not the case. So I hope it keeps my not so gullible mind occupied with possibilities and theories – which so far was a success !!
Just to name a few, I am very intrigued by possibilities of why things happen the way they happen in Season 1. What a relief and surprise to see the other half of the survivors add another dimension to this setup! What is Dharma Productions ? Sounds like a naming convention stolen from India but does this have anything to do with the storyline? Who knows ?
For now, its time to watch the next episode!

Since this was written almost a month ago, you have probably finished s2 by now. S2 was the worst season of lost. Just wait till you get to S4 and S5. They will blow you away. And I trust the writers of LOST. One thing that I have learnt is that they have the capability to show something fairly cheap yet make everyone go woah! cool.
So I am sure I would enjoy the ending, irrespecive of how crappy or cool it is.
@Pallab: I’m now at Season 4 and I cant wait to see what unravels! You are probably right..many episodes in S2 and some in S3 were just fillers..what a waste of time! Wish I’d be able to go to a comic con with LOST showcased in it!
