Applying for international driving license/ driving license

PLACE:

Hyderabad, India

TIME:

Any sunny crappy day to chose!
Preplanned events:

Talk to an agent and setup a day to meet at rto’s office

Day 1:

1. Go to the RTO’s office

2. Talk to the agent and fill in the forms(passport copy/birth date proof/address proof)

3. Wait in the queue for 2 hours for your turn

4. Finally you get a receipt to go in for a photo session

5. Take a crappy photo and wait in another queue for your name to be called

6. Finally you are in a queue where others are freaking out looking into some figures and traffic pictures

7. Since you have an agent, you can sing and just look at people freaking out

8. Finally your name is called out, you walk into a room of computers and a senior personnel at the end of the room, and an assistant who walks you in.

9. You start the test, and just stare at what the questions mean(unless you know driving, but i don’t!!)

10. Then suddenly out of no where, the assistant who walked you in will ask people to settle down outside, will boss around and close the door.

Suddenly its all dark inside and you wonder whats going on. Then the assistant will come down to your computer, review how many incorrect answers you made, and will finish the remaining till you can pass the test.

11. My case i answered only two questions, one was right, obviously one was wrong. So he answered some 10 more in 20 seconds at lightning speed.

12. Suddenly the door opens up behind you, and someone yells : “5 more minutes for the exam, finish off soon”

13. Now that you know, that you are going to pass with the cutoff being reached, you can have fun with the rest of the questions

14. I was surprised that i answered all right with the confidence that i am done!

15. Stand at the officer at the end of the room, say your name, he will ask a silly question, like who is MR.XYX from the form, and you will answer, its my dad sort of silly question

16. He will sign and give you a final sheet

17. You will come out, the agent will ask you for his money, will take the xerox copy of the sheet. keeps the original with him, and you start off the driving lessons with the xerox copy.

more to come, hands on with the phase II
