I too was in the process of doing every problem in this book, and I gave up on some of the ridiculous exercises. Was hoping to see those ones in your solutions but didn’t (e.g. 2.2 #10-#22). I have the 1990 edition though, perhaps yours is later and some of the crazier ones have been removed…
Probably this is from a new edition. Im glad ‘crazier’ ones are out!

Btw, I think your solution to ex 2.1 q 5 b is incorrect. The DFA you have provided wont accept aab.
